Many cottages and dormitories at MLBS are historic; some were built as long ago as 1934. They have been renovated in recent years, but care was taken to maintain the original character, charm, and rustic nature of the buildings. One more modern dormitory was constructed in the 1990s. All accommodations have indoor bathrooms and showers. Some have baseboard heaters, some have fireplaces, and some are unheated. A few cottages have kitchenettes.
